Junior Year – College and post-secondary planning

A LEGAL PREP JUNIOR WILL...
  • Begin their 3-year relationship with One Goal, meeting weekly to work with One Goal staff and Junior Collegiate Scholars teacher 
  • Demonstrate the relationship between personality, academic interests, and career
  • Outline their post-graduate plan and their personalized timeline
  • Complete a draft personal statement and a polished resume 
  • Identify prospective colleges or post-graduate programs based on match and fit
    • ​College match - a college that a student academically is likely to get into 
    • College fit - a college that student feels personally connected to based on other indicators such as size, demographic, location, etc.

STRUCTURE
A graded class period meeting daily in both the fall and spring semester. Legal Prep is a One Goal partner.

OneGoal is a national organization of students, teachers, and education leaders that work together to close the college degree divide and create a more equitable future. Using over a decade’s worth of experience, OneGoal partners with schools like Legal Prep to increase personalized post-secondary investment. The ultimate goal: college graduation; the starting point: junior year.

Legal Prep has partnered with OneGoal since 2014 and is proud to announce that we now work using a full-release model. This means every Legal Prep scholar has access to the OneGoal curriculum, support, and programming resources starting during their Junior Year to increase our effectiveness as Wildcats.
